Who... Are you?

Have you ever found yourself feeling not so optimistic about your decision you made the other Tuesday? Did that ever make your mind wander off into a maze of thoughts on how much of the decision was totally made by ‘you’.
We are often a deep complex manifestation of society’s expectations. We find it unusual to process how much of your decision was truly yours and not influenced by people and the image they have painted in their minds.
What thought starts as a regretful decision will fuel a chain of thoughts that hangs us on the edge of a bridge between self-realization and self-discovery.
Throughout the journey of self-discovery, we may realise that what we thought we are, might not actually be our most accurate form of self.
The oldest sense of influence comes from the environment and society a child had been raised in. Culture and civility of the place a person is brought up in shapes how they see the world .
This reveals that the consciousness of a person is truly what they are. Morals, even are shaped according to civilizations over centuries and have been taught from generation to generation in a different manner over time.
For example, if you are not a Genz or a Millennial, have a look around and see how the current world perceives many things. Look carefully into how they describe values, ethics and traditions.
Humans will never stop evolving and societies change according to the growing analytical thinking of the masses.
Today’s generation has rewritten unsaid silent social evils, systems and though labelled ‘lazy’ some put effort to change them.

This is the exact explanation why before we have our opinions formed on people we have
to check the plausible manipulations that resulted in that behaviour.
Before we form our own opinions, young minds are taught about patriarchal systems and ruthless expectations of the people from women and men. These are considered negligible by a few who don’t really know how much this becomes a trait of an adult.
The other end of this prescription is what actually makes me, me.

We are not what our parents have called us; not what the unpleasant classmate pointed out; not what your teacher expected from you; not what you were when you were immature; not even what your lover had loved about you; nor what your self doubt thinks you are.
We are truly ourselves when we have nothing to receive. No pain, happiness, judgement, love or appreciation. Whatever the wild thought in our heart, free and real is what we are. It is not not beyond you but you, in the barest way possible. The possibility of our reality is infinity yet what we quietly choose to do is what we are.
To wrap up, we have been influenced by an already existing life before we built ours. This can change what people see you as but not what you truly are. No matter the situations, the trauma and the disappointment of realising the cruelty of the world in adulthood.
This world needs you expressing yourself completely despite the fear that’s stopping you.

See you tomorrow with something new!
